Identity safe told me that my Norton Account was "temporarily locked due to too many failed log-in attempts.
1) I had not attempted to log in since my last reboot yesterday
2) I followed the "Forgot Password" link and updated my password
Ater the password update I was able to log on to my Norton Account on the web site, but Identity Safe continues to tell me that my Norton Account is locked.
Problem sems to have resolved itself.
Lockouts occur, as noted, if there are multiple consecutive incorrect login attempts. This is to protect you from someone just trying to guess your account
The length of time the account is locked depends on the web site. After the lock out time expires, you will again have access to the account.
Why it got locked? Do you have any other users on your computer? Maybe someone was experimenting.
Well, the options were OK. I will try to set it and then reset it. I have seen this kind of setting thing happen before and a set/reset worked. Not sure it will work with recycle bin though. Will give it a try.
You've marked this 'solved' and it may be for you since you've had your query answered, but the situation hasn't actually been resolved yet, as the test site still tells you that 'Your computer is not currently using Norton DNS'.

Give it time. The bump doesn't do a thing for it. The admin I asked will get to it as soon as he can. Who knows, there may be others with the correct answer.
Sorry Dick, will be more patient next time

I didn't realise that you had to mark posts with who you would like to answer them. Should I also put the names or relevant groups in order of preference?
Well, now it seems to be working. Not sure if my check/apply/uncheck did fix it!
Thanks for having me look at it again.
Since no one has answered your question, I will do my best.
As far as I am aware, NU is NOT a subscription based product. Once you've bought it it's yours. When new versions are released you normally need to buy again. I say normally because I have seen where Symantec have released a new version and given those that had recently purchased the previous version the chance to upgrade either free or at a reduced price. I can't remember which now, sorry.
I hope that answers your question.

NPE is an advanced tool which should be used under the guidance of a malware removalist. If you let NPE remove the wrong files, you could end up with a computer that can't be rebooted or used.
Nationzoom is a PUP I believe. Instead of trying to remove this malware on your own, you should visit one of the free malware removal sites to get rid of it properly. There removal sites work with you on a 1 to 1 basis in a controlled environment. They will tell you the proper tools to use. They will also tell you when your computer is clean and will let you know when you can delete the tools used. Your N360 didn't try to remove it because Norton removes viruses and trojans and real malware and not malware which is just a nuisance, but doesn't really harm your computer.
Please go to one of these free Forums for help in removing your bad malware or rootkits.
(Thanks to Delph for providing the list of sites)
Please see this link for an up to date description of these sites plus the addition of a newly listed site formed by one of our successful malware remover users. The new site is listed first in this link.

The above link will list the free malware removal sites and give a little discription of each.
Please let us know how you made out. Thanks.
Thanks for that.
I had a feeling it was going to be that way, as per NU15 I have, but because you had to now "activate" it, I wondered if the situation had changed.
