When you purchased NU you shoulld also have received the necessary license key. It is different/separate from the subscription key needed for NIS.

A few more downloads by other users should solve the problem. Brand new programs are always a bit suspect - just because they are new.

My other question would be why are you running NPE? If there's nothing wrong that's a very powerful tool to turn loose on a system. The false positive is one of the things that happens.

thank you sir, I have that information, the problem is when I file out the activation screen the tab to submit the required info, is "grayed out, only the Purchase and Cancel buttons are active.

sorry issue is unresolved...I found a "solution" to a earlier problem but when I applied that fix, the recommended solution said my program was newer that the recommend solution...believe me, I will gladly let everyone know when it is fixed, and ask for you all as witnesses in any divorce action :)

Are you using a Windows account with admin privileges while installing Norton Utilities?

so far, the issue is on 2 Win acct...on is win 7 and the second is on a win 8 non touch screen...same issue on both and I run as admin on both, thanks Pete

After I downloaded and installed NIS 2014 every time I restart my computer, it asks me if I want to install NIS on another computer

Are you sure ir is 400 registry keys it is finding?

Maybe it is 400 privacy items? If this is it, it just shows that NU is working and doing what it should.
