I payed for the full version which has a 3 PC license. It installed fine on my machine. I like the features. I proceeded to try to add my wife's machine to the three device license.
I followed the instructions on the NAT page to download the installer. I even used the "Enter your product key" option thinking it would customize the download to be an "activated" installer or give the option to add to a different device (like N360 does) and send an email to me at the receipent device. Here's where the problems started. I entered my product key but the Norton page told me it was an invalid key. I checked both my confirmation email and looked on the my devices page. Both had the same key; which the Download page rejected!
So I downloaded the "plain" installer onto a USB drive and took it over to my wife's and tried to install it there. It proceeded to create an installation sub-folder. But no installation proceeded after that. I looked in the sub-folder and found the NAT install program. I ran it and it asked me to login to my Norton Account. I did so but it told me the e-mail and password didn't match.
They work on my home machine just fine(N360/IS/NAT). I thought I had the wrong password so I selected "reset password" email. Norton sent me to the reset page where I re-entered the same password. ( My computer was using the email/password for N360/Identity Safe and NAT.)
To continue this long story, NAT still refused to accept the password on my wife's computer. So I came home to find I had to reenter my password in N360/IS/and NAT.
This is all too much for an old retired guy like me so I started to think.<Old addage: If all else fails, think> If Norton is so interconnected so as to flag my password/reset on my own N360 "DEVICE" does my wife's device need to be one of my 3 N360 protected devices?
I could find no literature at Norton.com to suggest this necessary affilitation to install NAT. Her computer is not one of my devices.
Do I really have to make hers a N360 device for this to work? So I would have to delete one of my current devices or buy an additional N360 license. Besides she has Kapersky and doesn't want/need N360 just to get NAT. (What would have happened if she would have upgraded her NAT trial. It seems that may have worked??)
This sure wasn't mentioned it the NAT purchase documentation that I could find.
I took a slew of screen-shots during this discovery process. I won't upload them unless asked for. I know of your extended photo acceptance process.
As always TIA
P.S. Your spell-checker (We listened and version 2 of the ABC checker has arrived ...give us your feedback!) didn't see "porcess" as typed to change to (process) Proofreading worked. I found several others! That's my feedback. Pass it along.
I left it for ages, but Task Manager shows no activity whatever.
The backup files are on an external hard disk.
Thanks for your interest.
Thanks, I'll give that a try.
I have been using the Windows backup facility to make parallel backups, so the problem may not be terminal.
I hope this gets implemented specially on scenarios where you don't want to download the Zone APP on PC and you want to download multiple FILES / FOLDERS from the Zone Website.. ie Pictures, Music or PDFs I hope this gets implemented Soon
I've just received this email: what does it mean?
Hello, You are receiving this notice because our records show you signed up for Norton Zone. Symantec has made the decision to discontinue Norton Zone and we will wind down our support of this service over the next 30 to 60 days. But, Why? At Symantec, we continually scrutinize our portfolio to make sure we’re delivering innovative solutions that captivate our customers and give you the most value. In reviewing the Norton Zone service, we looked at competitive solutions available today, our differentiation, and how well we addressed your emerging needs. While Norton Zone is an innovative, new offering, it is not yet solving your needs fully. Now What? You’ll have access to your files for the next 60 days. For the first 30 days, you will have full access from any device. After July 7, 2014, you will still be able to access your files but only from a Windows or Mac computer, not any mobile devices. During this time, you’ll only be able to access and copy your files but not use any other feature of Norton Zone, like sharing. After August 6, 2014 your files and related data, like file names, will be permanently deleted from the service and neither you nor Symantec will be able to access them. This is a critical step in ensuring your privacy but it means you must be sure to copy all data out of Norton Zone before August 6, 2014. What other file-sharing service should I use? That’s really up to you. There are several on the market that are available to you. Below are easy instructions on how to move your files from Norton Zone to any other file sharing service:
If you have paid for a subscription to any version of Norton Zone, we will automatically refund your subscription fees in full for the time you’ve been a paid subscriber. If you enrolled in auto renewal, we will remove you from that program and not automatically renew your subscription. If you are currently using the 30-day trial of the business version of Norton Zone, your trial will not expire on your expiration date. Your trial account will follow the dates outlined above. We want to thank you for being a Zoner. If you have any questions, you can email us at nortonzone@symantec.com Be safe,

I got the same email today. Yes, Norton Zone won't be available after August 6. If you want to replace it, Dropbox and Google Drive are great alternatives and they're both FREE.
I'd really want to know the reason why....

The first paragraph in the email (which reads like someone agonized over what to say and then just gave up) is supposed to answer your question. My guess is Norton Zone didn't have enough users to justify the cost of keeping it. But that's just a guess.
Dear Norton Community,
On June 3rd, 2014, Norton Zone will be discontinued and no longer available for download / sale. This board is where you can discuss Norton Zone and find more information about the Norton Zone discontinued service.
While Norton Zone is an innovative, new offering, it is not yet solving your needs fully and we believe that getting it to where it’s really adding value for you would just take too long.
What Should I do next?
You’ll have access to your files for the next 60 days. For the first 30 days, you will have full access from any device. After July 7, 2014, you will still be able to access your files but only from a Windows or Mac computer, not any mobile devices. After August 6, 2014 your files will be permanently deleted from the service and neither you nor Symantec will be able to access them. The discontinuation of Norton Zone has no impact on your Norton Account.
What other file-sharing service should I use?
That’s really up to you. There are several on the market that are available to you. Below are easy instructions on how to move your files from Norton Zone to any other file sharing service :
1. Sign-up for the file sharing service of your choice.
2. Install the client they have for accessing your files from your computer.
3. Open the services folder on your computer.
4. Be sure you have the Norton Zone client installed on your computer as well. If you don’t have the computer clients installed, go to nortonzone.com and sign-in. You’ll see a link on the right side of the web page.
5. In a separate window, open the Norton Zone folder on your computer
6. Now just drag and drop your files from Norton Zone into your other service.
7. Once your new service syncs your files, you’ll be all set.
If you have paid for a subscription to any version of Norton Zone, we will automatically refund your subscription fees in full for the time you’ve been a paid subscriber. If you enrolled in auto renewal, we will remove you from that program and not automatically renew your subscription.
If you are current using the 30-day trial of the business version of Norton Zone, your trial will not expire on your expiration date. Your trial account will follow the dates outlined above.
We want to thank you for being a Norton Zone customer. If you have any questions, you can email us at nortonzone@symantec.com
I have been using the above program for several years now, without any issues. I usually run the Disk Doctor utilities on the 1st of every month to maintain my disks. As of June 1, I am receiving a "Norton Disk Doctor GUI Module has stopped working" error, and the Disk Doctor crashes. I'm able to use the other utilities within NU without issue. I've tried uninstalling, and reinstalling, with the same results. I've loaded Norton Utilities v16, and it is running fine. NU v15 remains uninstalled.
I'm running Win 7 x64 with an Intel 530 240gb ssd, and two 500 gb hdd. The ssd is used as my system disk, and the other two are my program/data disks. I've tried repair disk with no results.
Any ideas?

We all ask the same question.
It might have something to do with features that were not included in Norton Zone. If you were following the Zone board, you would probably have seen questions on how to do something with the product that could not be done with Norton, but was available on a competative product. It may be that the user base did not grow as predicted, thus the business decision was that they could not afford the development costs to bring the product in line with the competition.
Perhaps you could contact Customer Support. They may want to remotely access your system to diagnose and fix the problem.
NPE does run in "Advanced" mode but has not found anything.
All,
I found that a sub-site used by google drive (doc-0c-20-docs.googleusercontent.com) is being blocked by Norton DNS.
For reference here is the link for the report http://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=doc-0c-20-docs.googleusercontent.com
I do realise that it is a choice to use the DNS service and you always have the option to re-configure to not use the Norton DNS service if it is causing an issue.
Obviously blocking a site like this will affect a large number of people who may use the site but would not be exposed to the malicous content, and is one of the weaknesses of using secure DNS servers as they do not see the full URI just the domain name so are unable to detect the differences.
I would however like to know the following:
1) In case like this where you are not the site owner, how do you request Norton to re-evaluate a site?
2) Is there a policy on when the site would automatically be re-evaluated? (If there is, it would be helpfu is on the report page for the site it stated when the site would next be evaluated)
3) The report page does not give any details of files/paths that have been flagged as malicous; This would be useful as at least then I could approach the site owner asking to remove the content so the site can be then checked again, also allow checking of historic access logs to see if any users did access the content before the site was blocked. Is this info available?
Regards
W60
Are you running NPE because you feel you have been infected? If so, it is possible you hav picked up something that is able to disable your scans.
I would suggest you sign up at one of the free Malware Removal sites below. Do not try to do anything on your own as it could make things harder for the Malware Removal expert at that site to help you. Choose one and stay there until your system is clean.

I tried that link and got a Google 404 error. This is not A Norton DNS message that I got.
As I am not a Google docs user, can you provide any more info on a full path? Does it link to a specific user's files?
Hi,
I really really would like any advice on my problem with Norton 360 online Backup. I've tried the online chat and I also phoned Norton but in both cases they couldn't help me and it gets a little frustrating.
So here is my problem:
I would like to use the Norton 360 online backup service. If I go to BackupDetails --> ManageBackup Sets--> Where I can see that 93% of my online backup storage (at Secure Online Storage) is already used. This must have happen when I onced backup my old computer. My old computer DOES NOT exists anymore. Anyway, I can't delete the backup since the 'delete backed up files' is grey, i.e. I can't press that button. Now I thought I check online at https://nobu.backup.com/ if I can delete my backup. BUT I can't. No files are shown and no computer or anything, except that my storage is already 93% full.
So my question here is, can a staff member from Norton just log onto the server a delete my old files (which I can't even see) so that I have the full 2GB available?? Why is that so hard?? Why can't I even see my backed up files??
Any help with that problem would be much appreciated. Thank you!
I have a Windows Phone 8.1 that allows VPN set up. I realize Hotspot Privacy is not available for Windows Phones, but is there any way to connect to a Symantec VPN with a valid NIS subscription?
